Steamed Clams with French Made Easy & Wine

Who doesn't love steamed clams? Well, maybe some of you out there. However, if you tried this steamed clam dish, I'm sure you'll turn into a fan! This recipe is amazing and only take about 15 minutes to make. Quick and easy!

PREP TIME COOK TIME TOTAL TIME
20 mins 10 - 15 mins 30 - 35 mins

INGREDIENTS:

1½ Tsp French Made Easy or Any of Our Blends
1 Pounds Little neck clams or mussels if you prefer
2 Tsp Butter
1 Medium shallot, thinly sliced
1 Handful of Italian flat-leaf parsley, chopped
1½ Cups White wine (maybe 2 cups)

Here's a helpful hint, soak the clams in fresh water for about 20 minutes or longer. This method will help flush out the sand they have inside them. Using a strainer inside a bowl, pour the clams and water in it. The sand falls to bottom of bowl.

Chop the parsley and slice the shallot as pictured above. No need for any garlic because it's in our French Made Easy seasoning blend, but you can always add some if you like. Tomatoes are good addition too.

Using a cooking pot, place the butter, shallots and parsley in it over medium-high heat. Add 2 teaspoons of French Made Easy and let everything sauté for about 5 minutes.

Once the shallots are translucent, add the clams and stir to coat them well. Add the wine, then cover. Bring to a boil over high heat, shaking the pot a few times, until all the clams have opened.

Squeeze a bit of lemon in the pot then serve in a bowl. For garnish, sprinkle a little fresh parsley.

Grab some bread and drizzle it with olive oil and sprinkle on a little of the French seasoning. Then toast under your broiler. Enjoy one tasty little clam - well, many clams!
