Carbonara with a French Twist
Classic carbonara elevated with French Made Easy — crispy pancetta, parmesan, and a silky egg sauce over perfectly salted pasta.
Ingredients
- 2 pinches French Made Easy
- ½ cup pancetta, diced small
- ¼ cup red onion, diced small
- 1 egg
- ¼ cup parmesan cheese, freshly grated
- 1 Tbsp olive oil
- ½ cup half & half (or milk or cream)
- Fresh ground black pepper
Directions
- Bring a pot of water to a boil and add a generous amount of salt. Cook pasta to al dente and reserve ½ cup pasta water before draining.
- In a pan over medium-high heat, cook pancetta with a few grinds of black pepper until crispy.
- Add diced red onion and cook until softened.
- Whisk together egg, parmesan, half & half, and French Made Easy in a bowl.
- Toss drained pasta into the pan with the pancetta, remove from heat, and pour the egg mixture over while tossing constantly.
- Add pasta water as needed to reach a silky consistency. Serve immediately.
Tips
- Always toss the egg mixture off the heat to avoid scrambling the egg.
